When it comes to the level of light control and even the finished look and feel, with Roller Blinds it’s all about the fabric choice. There are three main categories of fabrics to consider; solarscreen, translucent and blockout.

Solarscreens are a mesh-like fabric that works to reduce glare and heat transmitted through the windows without hindering natural light or views.

You might say translucents are the next level up in terms of light control. They usually have a slightly tighter weave than solarscreens, which allows them to block more light, leaving you with a nice filtered ambiance. These fabrics also tend to offer extra privacy, particularly at night.

As the name suggests, blockout fabrics block light from coming through the fabric. Often this is achieved by coating the back of the fabric with an opaque backing that reflects light back out the window.
